A limited amount of engineering analysis
(up to 50 hours) will be performed by Kennedy/Jenks, as requested by the City.
A Technical Memorandum will be developed and decisions made at the
workshops will be documented. The decisions recorded in a Pre-Design
Considerations Technical Memorandum will be used to support the preliminary
design of the capacity improvements (Task 3.a).

Meetings:

This Subtask assumes attendance of 3 engineers at 2 workshops.

Deliverable: Pre-Design Considerations Technical Memo

Task 3: Capacity Improvements Design

a. This subtask will include the development of a Design Criteria Confirmation
Summary (in lieu of Preliminary Design Report / Basis of Design Report), which
will be based in part on the Technical Memorandum developed in subtask 2.b.

. To develop this summary the "Design Criteria Summary" developed by
Kennedy/Jenks in January 2009 will be used as a starting point. The
previously developed design criteria will be evaluated and the resulting
final design criteria for the upcoming design will be documented. This
documentation will include the number of pumps, pump capacity,
horsepower (HP), number of pumps, and the need for a second
accumulator.
. This Summary will be considered the 100.10 design submittal.

Meetings: Kennedy/Jenks will conduct an in-house Concepts and Criteria
Review (C&CR) meeting to obtain input from senior staff and confirm the design
criteria for the capacity upgrade. It is anticipated that the C&CR meeting will be
attended by 4 engineers.

Deliverable: Design Criteria Confirmation Summary

b. EAC/DPS Design: This subtask involves developing the contract documents for
the DPS Capacity Improvements to "Bid Ready" level for the City's use in bidding
the project. It is estimated that final contract documents will include 24
construction drawings as summarized in the Preliminary Construction Drawing
Sheet Index and Specifications. Opinions of Probable Construction Cost will also
be developed. Submittals will be prepared at the 50%, 90%, 100% and Final

h\tp.lJslosplredwooc!Citylrutartup 20071projec1 managernentldps capacity improvements projecVdps.capacity .increaseJetler.proposal.doc
