1. Purpose. The Parties are entering into this Agreement for the sole purpose of <br />providing assistance to and sustaining the work of Redwood City Together. Redwood City <br />Together exists for two major purposes: <br />a) To provide a safe and inclusive space wherein representatives of the <br />collaborative partners can collaborate with members of the private sector, businesses, <br />nonprofits and the community at large to improve the quality of life in Redwood City for <br />children, youth, and families. <br />b) To provide oversight and support to ongoing collaborative efforts and <br />initiatives that are working toward Redwood City Together's agreed upon outcomes (e.g., <br />Cradle to Career Pipeline of Success, Community Schools, the Sequoia Teen Resource <br />Center and Wellness Center, Safe Routes to School, LIBRE, the Community Youth <br />Development Initiative, and Redwood City Together). <br />2. Term. This Agreement shall be effective from the date first above written until <br />June 30, 2022. <br />Structure of Redwood Cid Together. <br />a) Leadership Council. The Redwood City Together Leadership Council is <br />composed of up to two voting representatives from each of the collaborative partners' <br />governing policy boards. To ensure Redwood City Together's Leadership Council voting <br />representatives reflect the community it serves, the Leadership Council shall also include two <br />at -large members from the community. The two at -large members will have equal <br />opportunities and obligations, including voting rights, as those of the Leadership Council <br />members representing collaborative partners. The two at -large members will be North Fair <br />Oaks or Redwood City residents. The Executive Team will recruit and select two at -large <br />members for final approval by a vote of the Leadership Council. <br />b) Executive -Team. The Redwood City Together Executive Team is composed <br />of executive leaders (e.g., superintendent, executive director, chief operating officer, senior <br />manager, etc.) from each of the partner organizations — Canada College, City of Redwood <br />City, County of San Mateo (Health and Human Services Agency), Redwood City School <br />District, Sequoia Union High School District, Kaiser Permanente, Stanford University, and the <br />Sequoia Healthcare District, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and the North Fair Oaks <br />Community Council. <br />C) Governance. The Leadership Council and the Executive Team follow the <br />structure described in Exhibit "A" (Governance Structure), which is attached hereto and <br />incorporated herein by reference. <br />4. Redwood City Together Staff. It is understood that Redwood City Together <br />will require the services of an Executive Director and related support staff for its day-to-day <br />operations. The Executive Director and staff serve as the backbone organization for the Redwood <br />City Together collaborative and coordinate participating organizations and agencies. This <br />backbone organization operationalizes the structure that brings all necessary collaborative <br />partners together and drives the work of the collaborative. The backbone organization guides <br />vision and strategy, supports aligned activities, establishes shared measurement practices, builds <br />public will, advances policy, and mobilizes funding. The Leadership Council has designated the <br />City of Redwood City to contract for the Executive Director, Administrative Assistant, and other <br />necessary staff positions on behalf of Redwood City Together.
