88
Page 47

4. House size reduction.
Lots 7 and 8 (the two homes that front on Finger Avenue) will be reduced in size by 100
square feet. Lot 9 will be put on a slab on grade foundation (same as Lots 7 and 8) and
therefore, its height will be lowered by one foot. Lots 2 through 4 will be reduced in size
due to moving the homes further away from the top of the bank. See the chart attached.

5. Saving more trees with relocation.
OUf current plans show the removal of 12 trees. Four of these trees can be saved by
relocating them on the site.

Tree #27 - Canary Island Date Palm: 45 feet in height and 25 feet in spread.
Move to the right front of Lot 8 near the western entrance to the subdivision.

Tree #5 - Canary Island Date Palm: 20 feet in height and 20 feet in spread.
Move to the front of Lot 8 on the left side.

Tree #26 - Palm Tree: 12 feet in height and 25 feet in spread.
Move to the court yard of Lot 8 or in front of Lot 4.

Tree #44 - Redwood Tree: 35 feet in height, 10 feet in spread
Move to the right front side of Lot 9.

In addition there is a maple tree not listed as a tree because of its size. We will
move this to the front of one of the lots.

See attached diagram and tree photos.

6. Curb extension on Finf:er A venue and Avondale A venue.
We will construct curb extension between the commercial properties and the residential
properties on both Finger A venue and A vondale A venue. These curb extension would
include a column, a tree, and vegetation. The storm water would drain through them.
The benefits -
a. Would separate the commercial from the residential by the framing of the street
with the curb extensions, trees, and columns.
b. Would slow or discourage traffic from using either street for commuting.
c. Would filter the storm water as recommended by "San Mateo County
Sustainable Green Streets and Parking Lots Design Guidebook".
d. A plaque could be put on the columns with historic information, like honoring
the Fingers.

The negative would be that one parking space will be lost on Finger A venue.
See the exhibits showing concept drawings.

7. A roundabout f:arden at the intersection of Hyde and Fin~er.
The roundabout would be similar to what was originally there when the Finger
subdivision was created in 1906. We cannot put a large oak tree in the middle of it but
