The existing nail in the manhole may be utilized for securing new
bait provided it is firmly attached to the manhole and is in serviceable
condition. It is preferable to secure the tie-wire to the uppermost manhole
rung when it is accessible.
Tie-Wire: Sixteen and one-half (16.5) gauge plastic coated solid core
copper wire of the type used by electricians shall be used to secure bait
blocks. No other wire is approved for use.
Paint: Yellow, violet, white, and red enamel paint in aerosol containers will
be required to mark the back surface of the Caution Tag. In addition, the Contractor is required to remove
all pebbles and sand which have collected under the rim of the manhole
thereby lessening the possibility of the manhole cover rattling.
Bait in manholes with tight fitting covers must also be serviced unless prior
authorization is obtained from City or SMCMVCD to relocate the bait to
another manhole at no additional cost to the City.
ATTY/AGR.2022.127/Vector Pest Control (Dewey Services, Inc.)
