This effort may include strategy development, <br />technical assistance, material preparation, and assistance in the review of <br />presentations (when needed), workshop staffing and follow-up. Services for <br />such projects are offered based on the need of the project and the staff. <br />B.Internal Staff Development <br />6 Sessions Annually (+3 rolled over from FY21-22) Total of 9. <br />PCRC will provide a customized training or strategic planning/strategic <br />capacity building opportunities and technical assistance for supervisory <br />personnel, public contact employees and department managers on a topic that <br />may include theory and practice of interest-based conflict management, public <br />engagement, dealing with challenging behaviors, relationship building <br />methods, outreach strategies and other facilitative designs and processes. <br />C.Resident Capacity Building and Staff Consultation <br />Continue to offer consultation regarding liaison program and neighborhood <br />association to support for continuity from previous liaison program work. <br />PCRC assigned staff is available for staff to consult regarding conflict <br />situations, effective communication and community engagement practices. <br />1)Special Training: PCRC offers orientations to city staff about the mediation <br />program and its services as part of the basic contract. In addition, there are <br />training opportunities for supervisory personnel, public contact employees and <br />department managers that include theory and practice of interest-based <br />conflict management, negotiation, mediation and facilitation skills. <br />2)Conflict Assessment/Consultation: PCRC can assist cities, as well as local <br />community organizations/groups to assess specific conflict situations, analyze <br />concerns of stakeholders and develop strategies for pro-active and interest <br />based conflict resolution. PCRC utilizes its staff, volunteers, professional <br />mediators and local representatives in this assessment process. The conflict <br />assessment process usually involves third party neutral contact with <br />stakeholders to gather input and provide information about interest-based <br />conflict resolution. <br />3)Multi-party Mediation Services: PCRC can provide mediation services to <br />intact groups or in conflict situations with multiple stakeholders. After an initial <br />consultation and planning process, PCRC staff or skill volunteer mediators will <br />help the parties work together to resolve their dispute and establish positive <br />future steps. <br />4)Conflict Resolution System Design: PCRC can assist organizations in <br />ATTY/AGR.2022.271/Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (Mediation and staff training services) (Page 13 of 14)
