REV: 10-05-2022 VR <br />approved by the Public Works Director or designee as required to complete the scope of <br />work under this contract. <br />Mobilization does not include mobilization and demobilization for specific items of work <br />for which payment is provided elsewhere in the contract. Mobilization will not be <br />considered as work in fulfilling the contract requirements for commencement of work. <br />The designated Staging Area in the Site parking lot indicated on Exhibit B shall be used <br />for equipment, storage containers, materials, and sanitary facilities during the <br />remediation activities. Consultant shall be responsible for water connections and <br />disconnections that may be required and the associated costs. Consultant shall set-up <br />two 350-gallon mixing tanks. A commercial customary temporary construction fence with <br />opaque green netting shall be installed around the perimeter of the Staging Area. <br />Consultant shall be responsible for any work-related site security 24 hours a day, 7 days <br />a week. Measures shall include but are not limited to perimeter fencing, site lighting, <br />lockable temporary storage boxes, and locked security fencing. Consultant shall also <br />maintain access to the roadway adjacent to the Staging Area, labelled as “Roadway” on <br />Exhibit B. Consultant shall move and keep supplies and equipment within the Staging <br />Area to inject the “E” Wells Area as described in this agreement. <br />1.2. Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) Emplacement Area <br />1.2.1. Injection Point Design and Layout - Consultant shall inject ZVI according to the <br />following specifications: <br />Consultant shall use Hepure’s Ferox Flow for ZVI. Consultant shall mix ZVI <br />with potable water to produce injectable slurry. <br />A total of 34 temporary injection points shall be advanced using DPT; <br />17 probe points (even rows) shall be advanced to a total depth of 19.0 ft bgs <br />and 17 probe points (odd rows) shall be advanced to 18 ft bgs, to produce a <br />staggered vertical injection profile; <br />The injection points shall be located downgradient from the El Camino Real <br />Source Area within the PRB Emplacement Area; <br />Delivery point spacing shall be 8 to 10 ft. on center, in 2 to 3 treatment rows <br />to cover the PRB Emplacement Area as depicted on Exhibit C. <br />Sequential rows of ERB delivery points (odd vs even) shall be laterally offset <br />to produce a zig-zag pattern; <br />ZVI shall be injected in 2 ft intervals applying a “top down” approach. The <br />emplaced thickness shall be approximately 12 feet.; and <br />The treatment surface area shall be approximately 3,300 ft2. <br />Detailed information on volumes of substrate to execute PRB placement by <br />injection is summarized in Exhibit D. <br />The number, orientation and spacing of the injection point locations shall be <br />adjusted in the field to work around existing structures, which include <br />monitoring wells, curb dividers, medians, and irrigation systems. Injection in <br />the landscape island as indicated in Exhibit C is anticipated. Exact injection <br />point locations shall be reviewed and approved by the Public Works Director <br />or designee before injection. <br />Consultant shall inject approximately 17,000 pounds of ZVI through 34 DPT <br />probe points. This equates to approximately 83.3 pounds of ZVI per 2-ft <br />injection interval.
