REV: 10-05-2022 VR
A total of 59 temporary injection points shall be advanced using direct-push
technology. 43 probe points shall be advanced to a depth of approximately
20-ft bgs (in the area immediately SW of the Former Video Store building),
while 16 probe points shall be advanced to a depth of approximately 22 ft
bgs in the area located at the backside of the Safeway Shopping Center
building;
Delivery point spacing shall be 12 to 14 ft. on center and laid out in a grid
pattern with approximately 12 treatment rows while maintaining the 12 to 14
ft. spacing requirement;
Sequential rows of ERB delivery points shall be offset (odd vs even) to
produce a zig-zag pattern;
The emplaced thickness shall be approximately 14.0 ft. for probe points
advanced to a depth of 20 ft. bgs and 16.0-ft. for probes advanced to a depth
of 22 ft. bgs.; and
The treatment surface area shall encompass approximately 15,500 ft2.
The orientation and spacing of the injection point locations shall be slightly
adjusted to account for existing structures such as monitoring wells, curb
dividers and landscape islands, while preserving the zig-zag pattern. Exact
injection point locations shall be reviewed and approved by the Public Works
Director or designee before injection.
Approximately 33 gallons of EVO agent shall be injected at each probe point
advanced to a depth of 20 ft. bgs (43 total), and 37 gallons of EVO agent shall
be injected at probe points advanced to a depth of 22 ft. bgs (16 total), totaling
approximately 2,011 gallons of EVO to be injected through 59 probe points.
Consultant has selected and estimates a target injection rate for each individual
injection point to range between 3 and 5 gpm. The estimated pressure required
to initiate injection is estimated to range between 75 and 85 psi with a target
maintenance pressure of 65 to 75 psi. Injection volumes and pressures will vary
based on actual injection rates encountered in the field and the lithology of
formation. Consultant shall confer with the Public Works Director or designee to
determine the optimum pressure to maintain the injection flow rate as to limit
fracturing of the formation.
1.4.2. Drilling and Delivery Specifications – Consultant shall install EVO injection points
by a direct push drill rig. Consultant shall use a drill rig to advance 1.5-inch direct-
push rods equipped with an injection tip through pre-cleared boreholes to the final
pre-determined depth. The final depth of each push probe shall be dependent upon
the location within the “E” Wells Area. Injection shall commence in 2 ft. intervals
working downward in a ‘top down’ sequence.
Consultant shall use flow meters and pressure gauges to control injection volume
and pressures and make every effort to minimize daylighting of reagents.
Consultant shall document injection point feedback, targeted injection depths, EVO
volumes, and pressures at each injection point. Consultant shall mix slurry to meet
injection load/mass requirements per interval. Based on injection point feedback,
targeted injection depths, reported EVO volume and pressures, the Consultant shall
calculate and field verify the targeted radius of influence and distribution of reagent.
If ground heave or flow back (daylighting) is encountered during injection, the
Consultant shall stop injection immediately and evaluate options with the Public
ATTY/AGR.2022.348/Regenesis Bioremediation Products (Page 18 of 34)
