RESOLUTION NO. 16108 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY RECITING THE FACTS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ON NOVEMBER 8, 2022 <br />WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of <br />Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of California on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, <br />as required by law for the purpose of electing three members of the City Council and to <br />vote on Measure P and Measure Z; and <br />WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in the time, form and manner <br />prescribed by law, vote centers were properly established, election officers were <br />appointed and in all cases said election was held and conducted and votes were cast, <br />received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in the time, form and manner <br />required by the provisions of Elections Code of the State of California for holding of <br />elections in general and charter cities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolutions 16056, 16057, 16058, and 16070, the County <br />of San Mateo Elections Office canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the <br />results, which have been received and are attached and made part hereof as Exhibit A. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Attached hereto as Exhibit A is the Certificate from the Chief Elections <br />Officer and the Completed Canvass of the Vote and the Certified Election Results. <br />2. The number of votes given in the City to each of the persons voted for at <br />the election for the respective offices for which the persons were candidates and for and <br />against the measures are listed in the attached Exhibit A. <br />3. The total number of votes cast in the City was 37,942. <br />4. The names and results of the persons voted for at said election for members <br />of the City Council are: <br />District 2 <br />Chris Sturken <br />1,092 votes or 40.76% <br />Margaret Becker <br />1,041 votes or 38.86% <br />Alison Madden <br />546 votes or 20.38% <br />District 5 <br />Kaia Eakin 12,283 votes or 100% <br />District 6 <br />Diane Howard <br />3,365 votes or 74.81 % <br />Jerome Madigan <br />1,133 votes or 25.19% <br />ATTY/RESO.0112/CC RESO ELECTION RESULTS <br />REV: 12-12-2022 SK <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESO # 16108 <br />MUFF # 307 <br />
