5. The City Council does declare and determine that: <br />a. Chris Sturken is elected as a member of the City Council representing <br />District 2 for a term of four years. <br />b. Kaia Eakin is elected as a member of the City Council representing District <br />5 for a term of four years. <br />c. Diane Howard is elected as a member of the City Council representing <br />District 6 for a term of four years. <br />6. The City Clerk shall deliver to each person elected a certification of election <br />signed by her and duly authenticated; the City Clerk shall also administer to the persons <br />elected the oath of office as prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of California <br />and shall have each of them subscribe to it and file it in the office of the City Clerk. Each <br />person elected shall then be inducted into the respective office to which they have been <br />elected. <br />7. Measure Z (City of Redwood City Election Procedures Charter Amendment) <br />appeared on the ballot as follows: Shall the measure amending the Redwood City Charter <br />to align the date of the Redwood City General Municipal Election with the Statewide <br />General Election date, clarify the date by which Redwood City elections must be certified <br />and City Councilmembers sworn in, and provide for election of City Councilmembers by - <br />district in order to comply with State law, be adopted? <br />It was determined and declared that Measure Z did receive a majority of the votes cast <br />with 20,016 votes cast in favor (86.61 %) and 3,094 votes cast in opposition (13.39%) and <br />therefore was approved by the voters of Redwood City. <br />8. Measure P (City of Redwood City Mayoral Term Charter Amendment) <br />appeared on the ballot as follows: Shall the measure amending the Redwood City Charter <br />to shorten the term of Mayor from two years to one year in order to allow for <br />Councilmembers to serve as Mayor during their tenure on City Council, be adopted? <br />It was determined and declared that Measure P did not receive a majority of the votes <br />cast with 8,605 votes cast in favor (36.44%) and 15,012 votes cast in opposition (63.56%) <br />and therefore was not approved by the voters of Redwood City. <br />9. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of the City, a <br />statement of the results of the election, showing: (1) the whole number of votes cast in <br />the City (2) the names of the persons voted for (3) the measures voted upon (4) for what <br />office each person was voted for (5) the number of votes given at each precinct to each <br />person and, and for and against each measure. <br />10.
