<br />The SFPUC will contract with an independent metering consultant to perform periodic <br /> <br /> <br />inspections, testing, servicing and calibrations of the meters and metering equipment for the <br /> <br /> <br />County-line meters and In-City Terminal Reservoirs. The metering consultant's calibration and <br /> <br /> <br />maintenance work will include the following components: . <br /> <br />· Annual Pitot Tube Tests: Pitot tube flow tests shall be performed once a year on all <br />. Venturi-type flow meters. See Sections 4.b and 4.c for further detail. <br /> <br />· Quarterly Secondary Meter Equipment Testing and Calibration: The secondary metering <br />. equipment shall be tested for accuracy and calibrated quarterly at five input levels (0%, 25%, <br />50%,75% and 100% of the full range of flow). See Section 4.a for further detail. <br /> <br />· Cleaning: Clean and remove dust, oils, dirt, etc. from all instruments. <br /> <br />· Flushing: Flush and clean Venturi tube differential pressure (DIP) sensing lines. <br /> <br />· Inspecting: Inspections for mechanical fatigue, leaky pipes and fittings, worn parts, and <br />improper operation of electrical/electronic equipment. <br /> <br />· Lubrication: Mechanical parts shall be lubricated as needed. <br /> <br />4. Calibration Procedures <br /> <br />The metering consultarit shall continue to calibrate and maintain the County-line meters <br /> <br /> <br />and metering equipment listed in Table 4 in accordance with the frequency of work specified in <br /> <br /> <br />Table 5. The work includes documenting meter readings and accuracy before ahd after <br /> <br /> <br />calibration. Specific tasks to be completed by the ~etering consultant are as follows: <br /> <br />a) Quarterly testing and calibration. The secondary metering equipment shall be tested and <br />calibrated quarterly using NIST Traceable test equipment, and a "dead weight tester." <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />March 11, 2009 <br />
