Sanitariums, convalescent homes, and nursing homes, and rest homes: One (1) space for <br />each six (6) patient beds, plus one (1) space for each staff or visiting doctor, plus one (1) space <br />for each employee. <br />[Subsections 30.5.D.4-7 and Subsection 30.5.E are unchanged.] <br /> <br />[Article 30, Section 30.6 is amended as follows] <br />30.6 - Size and Spaces. [PARKING]. <br />A. Standard spaces: A standard parking space shall have a minimum width of not less than <br />eight and one-half (8½) feet and minimum length of not less than eighteen (18) feet. <br />Parking layout and aisle dimensions shall be designed in accordance with Redwood City <br />Engineering Standards. <br />1. [Reserved.]SB 9 Projects. Uncovered spaces as part of SB 9 Projects on driveways shall <br />have a minimum width of eight and one-half (8.5) feet and a minimum length of twenty <br />and one-half (20.5) feet. <br />2.Parking lots must be designed such that backing out into a public street is not a <br />necessity for ordinary turning movements. <br /> <br /> <br />30.7 – RESERVED. State Preemption. <br />In the event of a conflict between this section and State law, State law shall prevail. <br /> <br />[Subsections 30.7 – 30.8 remain unchanged. Subsection 30.9 is amended as follows] <br /> <br />30.9 – Access Drives. <br />All required off-street parking and loading spaces shall have an access drive connecting the <br />parking spaces to a dedicated public right of way. Each access drive shall be designed in the <br />following ways, depending on the use and number of dwelling units. Additional width may be <br />required at the curb for safe turning movements in accordance with Engineering Standards. <br />These standards do not apply to public or private streets that serve multiple parcels. <br /> <br />A. Uses with 5 or fewer parking spaces shall have an access drive with a minimum <br />surface width of 9 feet and a minimum unobstructed width of 10 feet. <br />A. Every required parking space, garage space or carport space for more than five (5) <br />vehicles, and every required loading space, shall have access to a dedicated public right- <br />of-way by means of an access drive of not less than eighteen (18) feet in surface width <br />with a minimum unobstructed width of twenty (20) feet, unless two (2) one (1)-way <br />access drives are provided, in which case each drive shall be at least nine (9) feet in <br />surface width with a minimum unobstructed width of ten (10) feet.
