REV: 06-09-2023 RL •Contractor will follow all safety protocols at all times, in and around the pump stations, lift stations, job sites, control panels and operating service equipment. •Contractor will perform pump operational tests to check voltage supply to pump (with pumps off and when running), check full load amp draw of all phases to ensure balance, listen to pump running to check for noise that might indicate a bearing or other issue, all in an effort to identify potential issues that can be further inspected when the pump is removed from the wet well. •Contractor will make electrical checks of the pump motor including measuring the resistance between windings, megging the motor, inspecting the power cable and leads for damage, checking the pump protection sensor leads and relays (MiniCas Relays) for proper operation (if applicable), and other electrical checks as outlined by the 21-point Checklist (above), all in an effort to identify potential issues that can be further inspected when the pump is removed from the wet well. •Contractor will safely remove Flygt pumps for inspection, inspect the spacing and clearance of impellers, check impellers for damage/wear, check oil/coolant and replace as necessary, inspect seals and O- rings and replace, as necessary. •Contractor will visually check/confirm proper rotation before reinstallation of pump. Perform system performance checks including cleaning and checking level sensors for correct operation and set points, checking any valves present for proper operation, checking pump discharge leakage when pump is running, and testing pump, and testing pump operational cycles (if possible). •Contractor will perform repairs such as replacement and installation of O-rings and other minor parts that are determined to need replacing during such inspection. The cost of all such "minor parts" shall be included in the contract price and shall not be an extra charge. These repairs do not include overhaul or shop repairs. All "minor parts" shall be included and readily available on hand for service technicians in the field. •Any work not specifically mentioned, but which is needed to make the maintenance complete within the intent of this specification shall be performed without additional cost. •Pumps shall be systematically examined, adjusted, cleaned, and repaired in accordance with the specified inspection schedule. •If additional repairs are needed for pumps, Contractor will report its findings to the Wastewater and Storm Public Works Superintendent, and will seek guidance from them on how to proceed (either repair or wait). Extra Work, Including Unanticipated and/or Major Repairs: Contractor shall provide any additional pump repairs, overhauls, or direct replacement of pumps which are not included in the annual preventative maintenance. Prior to performing any such additional repairs, or replacements, Contractor shall submit to Wastewater and Storm Public Works Superintendent a detailed description of the work determined to be necessary together with cost estimate for such work and parts and obtain written approval from the Wastewater and Storm Public Works Superintendent prior to commencement of work.
