Electrical Code, 1999 Edition, as published by the National Fire Protection <br /> Association, and the Uniform Administrative Code Provisions for the <br /> National Electrical Code, 1996 Edition, as published by the International <br /> Conference of Building Officials, are hereby adopted and shall be in effect <br /> within the City of Redwood City to the same extent as if set out in full <br /> herein except as expressly amended by the provisions of this Article. <br /> <br /> B. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the provisions of the <br /> National Electrical Code, 1999 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the <br /> Electrical Code, or the Uniform Administrative Code Provisions for the <br /> National Electrical Code, 1996 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the <br /> Administrative Provisions, and the provisions of this Chapter, the <br /> requirement which prescribes and establishes the higher standard of <br /> safety shall apply unless otherwise stated in this Article. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.139 SECTION 203 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS <br />DELETED: Section 203 of the Administrative Provisions is hereby deleted. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.140 SECTION 304(a) OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS <br />AMENDED. Section 304(a) of the Administrative Provisions is hereby amended in its <br />entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 304(a) Permit Fees. The fee for each electrical permit shall be as <br /> adopted by resolution of Council. The applicant shall pay to the building official <br /> for each permit at the time of issuance a fee established by resolution of the City <br /> Council. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.141 SECTION 110.26(C) OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE AMENDED: <br />Section 110.26(c) of the Electrical Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 110.26(c) Access and Entrance to Working Space. For equipment rated <br /> 1200 amperes or more and over 6 ft (1.83 m) wide that contains overcurrent <br /> devices, switching devices, or control devices, there shall be one entrance not <br /> less than 24 in. (610 mm) wide and 6 ½ (1.98 m) high at each end of the working <br /> space. Where the entrance has a personnel door(s), the door(s) shall open in the <br /> direction of egress and be equipped with panic bars, pressure plates or other <br /> devices that are normally latched but open under simple pressure. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.142 SECTION 210.12(B) OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE AMENDED: <br />Section 210.12(b) of the Electrical Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 210.12 (B) Dwelling Unit Bedrooms. All branch circuits that supply 125- <br /> volt, single-phase, 15 and 20-ampere outlets installed in dwelling unit bedrooms <br /> shall be protected by an arc-fault circuit interrupter listed to provide protection of <br /> the entire branch circuit. <br /> <br /> Atty/Ord/Ord. 167 <br /> 102402 22 <br /> <br /> 2241 <br /> <br /> <br />
