14

Commissioners and WETA Board of Directors Redwood City Council, and San Mateo
County Transportation Authority in 2020-2021.

The Ferry Terminal project is managed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
between Redwood City and WETA that serves as the framework for decision-making.
The MOU will be updated as the project progresses to identify roles and responsibilities
concerning construction, maintenance, and operations. Although active service is not
envisioned until 2026 or later, there may be need for coordination if construction of
both projects overlap.

Contact:
Kevin Connelly, Director of Planning, WETA
connelly@watertransit.org (415) 291-3377

4.3.5. San Francisco Bay Trail
The Project area contains segment of the San Francisco Bay Trail, which circles the bay
with more than 350 miles of trails. The Project’s construction phase will require closure
of about 150 feet of off-street Bay Trail between Redwood Shores and Ravenswood
Slough for several weeks, and about 1,500 feet of on-street Bay Trail access will also be
impacted intermittently along Seaport Boulevard.
A Trail Closure Plan and a Transportation Management Plan will be developed by the
Project Team prior to construction to identify and mitigate specific impacts to all users.
Contact:
Lee Huo, Senior Planner, ABAG
Luo@bayareametro.gov (415) 820-7915

4.2 Projects Outside the Immediate Project Vicinity
In addion to the City’s projects, there are several Caltrans projects either already or will be in
construcon that may require coordinaon once the 101/84 I/C project moves into the
construcon phase:
4.2.1. US 101 Pavement Maintenance
Caltrans is slated to begin a $50.7M pavement rehabilitaon and median barrier
upgrade on US 101 from the Santa Clara/San Mateo County line to the Whipple Ave
Interchange in early 2024. During an esmated 1-year construcon period, Caltrans will
require the closure of a single lane over six weekends. Caltrans will coordinate these
closures with affected cies.
Contact:
Kelly Ma, Project Manager, Caltrans
