23

Appendix A: History of Project Outreach

Environmental Phase Outreach
The first outreach work for the project focused on educang the community about ways to
increase person throughput in the corridor under various scenarios and to receive feedback
about key issues or concerns from the local community and businesses regarding the project
alternaves. There was an outreach plan developed and implemented for this phase. This
project dialogue was accomplished through stakeholder meengs with property owners, as
well as with the environmental, school, transit, bicycle, and business communies. During
2014, two community meengs were held for the public to view a project presentaon, ask
quesons of project staff, and/or comment on the project alternaves. A scoping meeng was
held in November 2014, where the public was asked to provide input related to the document
or environmental studies. Three City Council Study Sessions and three meengs of the City's
project Ad Hoc City Council Subcommitee were held during this period. There was a
community meeng held during the circulaon of the Dra Environmental Document (DED) in
2016. In addion, a Project website (with comment capabilies) containing presentaons from
these community meengs, a speakers’ bureau, alternave’s videos, and project factsheets in
Spanish and English were also made available to the public during this phase.
Design Phase and Funding Plan Outreach
The second phase of outreach included the development of and Council adopon of a funding
strategy plan and government agency workshops to clarify aspects of the project such
coordinaon with Caltrans, the Port of Redwood City, PG&E, Union Pacific Railroad, and others.
