<br />ATTY/RESO.0033/HRAC 413 ALDEN STREET <br />REV: 06-02-22 JB <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 22-01 <br /> <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING <br />APPROVAL OF PERMIT NO. AP 2022-009 FOR 413 ALDEN STREET IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 40 OF THE REDWOOD CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Applicant, Joseph Spencer Brook (the “Property Owner), has <br />applied for a Permit to construct a 231-square foot single-story addition to the existing <br />single-story residence (the “Project”) located at 413 Alden Street (the “Property”); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Municipal Code <br />(“Historic Preservation Ordinance”), the Historic Resources Advisory Committee <br />(“HRAC”) shall review any application to tear down, demolish, construct, alter, remove <br />or relocate any improvement, or any portion thereof, which has been designated a <br />historic landmark or is within a historic district; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City (“City”) has designated the Property a local <br />Historic Resource (City Council Resolution Number 14723) and a contributor to the <br />designated Mezesville Historic District (City Council Resolution Number 14723); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 27, 2022, a public hearing notice of the HRAC hearing was <br />published in the San Mateo Daily Journal and sent to the Property Owner; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June 9, 2022, the HRAC conducted a duly-noticed public hearing <br />in accordance with all applicable requirements of State Law to review the permit <br />application and supporting material. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HRAC OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The HRAC hereby makes the following findings outlined in Section <br />40.10 of the Historic Preservation Ordinance: <br /> <br />A. In the case of any property designated a historic landmark, the <br />proposed work would not detrimentally alter, destroy or adversely affect any <br />exterior architectural feature; or <br /> <br />Not applicable, the property is not a historic landmark. <br /> <br />B. In the case of any property located within a historic district, the <br />proposed construction, removal, rehabilitation alteration, remodeling, excavation <br />or exterior alteration conforms to the prescriptive standards as adopted by the <br />Commission, and does not adversely affect the character of the district; or <br />
