JOHANNA STREET, ARCHITECT Page 1 <br />Compatibility Evaluation <br />for 1100 El Camino Real <br />July 13, 2022 <br />Introduction <br />The following report is written to evaluate the compatibility of a proposed vertical <br />addition to the existing building located at 1100 El Camino Real in Redwood City. It will <br />include a summary of the significance of the building, project description, identification <br />of the standards and guidelines pertinent to the project and a compatibility evaluation. <br />A site visit was performed on April 25, 2022 by Johanna Street. Johanna is a California- <br />licensed architect (#C30268) specializing in historic preservation. She has over twenty <br />continuous years of experience working in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a qualified <br />historical resource consultant as defined by the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and <br />is listed on the California Historical Resources Information System (CHRIS) Historical <br />Resources Consultants List. <br />Significance Summary <br />The subject property is located at 1100 El Camino (Assessor Parcel Number 053-044- <br />030)on a flat corner lot at the southeast intersection of El Camino Real and Harrison <br />Avenue in Redwood City. The approximately 4,575 square foot rectangular lot features a <br />one-story concrete commercial building, constructed in c.1941 as a dry cleaning business. <br />The zoning for the property is P or Planned Community District as described in Article <br />52 of the Redwood City Zoning Code. It is within the Downtown Precise Plan area and <br />the Mixed-Used Downtown 2010 General Plan. <br />Figure 1.
