ATTY/RESO.0086/PC RESO RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF ZA AMENDMENT – 1616 GORDON STREET <br />REV: 10-13-2021 VR <br />Page 7 of 21 <br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. ___ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING <br />A ZONING AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE 60 (ZONING DISTRICT <br />BOUNDARIES – MAPS) TO REZONE THE PROPERTY AT 1616 GORDON <br />STREET FROM RESIDENTIAL DUPLEX TO MULTI-FAMILY MEDIUM <br />DENSITY WITH OFFICE COMBINING DISTRICT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at a duly noticed public hearing on October 16, <br />2021 adopted a Resolution recommending that the City Council approve a Zoning Amendment to <br />re-zone the property at 1616 Gordon Street (059-081-750) from Residential Duplex (R-2) to Multi- <br />Family Medium Density with Office Combining District (R-4-O) as shown on Exhibit A, attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on _____________, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing, and <br />introduced an ordinance to re-zone the property R-4-O (the Project); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, finds that the proposed Project is within the scope of the <br />previously approved General Plan for which the 2010 General Plan EIR was prepared. As set <br />forth in CEQA Guidelines Section 15183 and the attached memorandum to the staff report, the <br />proposed Project is consistent with the densities and policies in the General Plan that were <br />analyzed in the 2010 General Plan EIR. There are no further environmental effects which are <br />peculiar to the Project or site, and no further environmental review is required; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, having reviewed the recommendation of the Planning <br />Commission and having considered the evidence received at the October 16, 2021 duly noticed <br />public hearing, finds the proposed R-4-O Zoning District is consistent with the General Plan, the <br />existing zoning of the properties in the immediate vicinity, and the purpose of amendments to <br />increase the quality of the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance in guiding and regulating future <br />development, growth, and evolution of Redwood City. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are hereby <br />incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Based on the facts in the staff report, written and oral testimony on evidence <br />presented, the City Council finds this amendment to the Zoning Map to be in the public interest <br />and in conformance with the General Plan and the goals and objectives of Article 49 of the Zoning <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3. Pursuant to the provisions of Article 41 and 49 of the Redwood City Zoning <br />Ordinance, Article 60, Zoning District Boundaries - Map is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />That real properties located at 1616 Gordon Street, Redwood City, California <br />identified as Assessor Parcels Number 059-081-750 are hereby rezoned from the <br />existing Residential Duplex to the Multi-Family Medium Density with Office <br />Combining District, as shown on Exhibit A. <br />
