[CFC §503.1.1] Applicant has stated the plans submitted are in <br />substantial compliance with the approved plans dated 11/26/19. Prior to the issuance of <br />building permits provide a set of the 11/16/19 plans so they can be compared to determine <br />compliance with this requirement. [COA][FIRE] 58. Aerial Fire Apparatus Access Road - Sheets C20 and C21- Where the vertical distance <br />between the grade plane and the highest roof surface exceeds 30-feet, an aerial fire <br />apparatus access road is required. [CFC Appendix D§105.1] This building is greater than 30- <br />feet tall, and therefore an aerial (ladder truck) fire access road is required. The applicant <br />has indicated the plans submitted are in substantial compliance with the approved plans <br />dated 11/26/19. Prior to the issuance of building permits, the applicant provide a set of the <br />11/16/19 plans so they can be compared and determined to be in compliance. [COA][FIRE] <br /> 59. Fire Flow Requirements - An approved water supply capable of supplying the required fire <br />flow must be provided for manual fire protection (firefighting). [CFC §507.1] Applicant to <br />contact the Redwood City Public Works Department (650) 780-7464 or online at Redwood <br />City Fire Flow Test Request and obtain a waterflow test report that indicates the available <br />water supply for manual fire suppression (fire flow). Prior to the issuance of building <br />permits, provide the updated/current test report on the plans or as an attachment. <br />[COA][FIRE] 60. Fire Hydrant and Sprinkler System Feed Lines - Sheets C-15 thru C-18 - All water mains <br />providing a water supply for fire protection, both to fire hydrants and to fire service <br />systems, must be not less than eight inches (8") in diameter (inside measurement). [CFC <br />§507.1.1 as amended by the City of Redwood City Code of Ordinances §12.16] Plans do not <br />clearly indicate that eight-inch water lines supply all fire hydrants and fire sprinkler systems. <br />Applicant to show on the plans how this will be accomplished. [COA][FIRE] 61. High-Rise Construction – The building is considered a High-Rise and must comply with all <br />codes for High-Rise construction if the height of the top occupied floor slab exceeds 75 feet. <br />Height is measured from the lowest point of the gutter at the lowest street elevation. <br />[SDR][BUILDING] 62. Fire Apparatus and Aerial Fire Apparatus Access Turning Radius – Sheet C-20 - The turning <br />radius of the fire apparatus access roads must meet the standards of the Redwood City Fire <br />Department for both fire engine apparatus and aerial apparatus. [CFC §503.2.4]. All <br />alternate methods and materials requests must be submitted, reviewed and <br />approved/rejected by the City of Redwood City Fire Department prior to the issuance of <br />building permits. 63. Addressing and Access – The following requirements apply: [COA][FIRE] a. Addresses must be logical, sequential numbers, i.e. First Floor 101, 102, 103, Second <br />Floor 202, 203, 204, as opposed to F303, G401, etc.
