Page 3 of 6
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
Figure 1: Downtown & Central Redwood City Study Area including
Downtown, Centennial*, and Stambaugh-Heller Neighborhoods
*Only the southern portion of the Centennial neighborhood between
Brewster Avenue and Whipple Avenue is included in the study area.
Preparation of the Downtown & Central Redwood City Plan will include an extensive community outreach
and visioning process, economic analysis, and environmental analysis culminating in a Plan that will guide
the area’s equitable evolution in terms of land use, urban design, connectivity, historic preservation,
infrastructure, and climate resiliency. The City seeks to build on Downtown Redwood City’s successes and
engage the community in the visioning process in order to position itself to meet new challenges and
realities emerging around how residents live, work, recreate, and travel. In support of the City’s economic
and social vitality as well as its goal to be an ever-more equitable and sustainable community, the
Downtown & Central Redwood City Plan will establish:
An updated vision and priorities for the desired mix of market-rate and affordable housing,
commercial, retail, office, research and development, and open space in Downtown and
potentially in mixed use areas of Centennial and Stambaugh-Heller neighborhoods as well as a
fresh look at strategies for regulating development intensity Downtown;
6.D. - Page 3 of 68
104
