Page 1 of 4 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: August 26, 2024 <br />SUBJECT <br />Award Fair Oaks Community Center Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) Kitchen Remodel Project to Onpoint <br />Construction in the amount of $303,125; and authorize the City Manager or their designee to increase the <br />contract amount, if necessary, up to 10% of the amount awarded in an amount not to exceed $30,312 for <br />a total amount of $333,437 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the contract documents and award the <br />standard form contract for the Fair Oaks Community Center MPR Kitchen Remodel Project to Onpoint <br />Construction of Burlingame, CA for their responsive and responsible low total bid of $303,125; and <br />authorize the City Manager or their designee to increase the contract amount, if necessary, up to 10% of <br />the amount awarded in an amount not to exceed $30,312 for a total amount of $333,437. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Redwood City (City) Public Works Services (PWS) Department maintains all City-owned <br />facilities. PWS conducts routine upgrades and renovations of facilities through the City’s Tenant <br />Improvement Program (TIP) and other Capital Improvement Programs. In some instances, other funding <br />sources, such as grants, are also used to pay for projects. Every year the City receives a monetary award <br />through the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, administered by the U.S. <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Program Year (PY) 2021 Annual Action Plan <br />for the CDBG Program included an allocation of $426,064 for the Fair Oaks Community Center (FOCC) <br />Rehabilitation.
