Due to construction cost increases only the administrative office remodel was <br />able to be completed with the PY 2021 CDBG funds. As part of the PY 2022 Action Plan approval, the City <br />Council approved an additional $353,998 in CDBG funds to complete the remaining projects. Classroom <br />7 and the exterior painting projects were completed in 2023. <br />The remodel of the Older Adult Activity Center Kitchen, also known as the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) <br />Kitchen, is the only remaining project to be completed. The kitchen is vital component of the facility as it <br />is used to facilitate various meal programs administered by City staff. In May 2024, the City Council <br />approved an amendment to the PY 2023 Action Plan to add $75,000 in CDBG program income to provide <br />additional funding for the MPR Kitchen Remodel Project. The following image depicts the general location <br />of the project. <br />On July 2, 2024, staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids (NIB) that was published in the San Mateo Daily Journal <br />and posted on the City’s website. Staff also notified multiple prospective bidders of the solicitation, and <br />the NIB was listed on ConstructConnect.com, a subscription-based website that informs contractors of <br />open commercial construction projects throughout the United States and Canada. Five prospective <br />bidders attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting and site-walk. Two bids were received by the July 31, <br />2024 submission deadline. <br />6.Q. - Page 2 of 4 <br />607
