Page 1 of 7 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: August 26, 2024 <br />SUBJECT <br />Resolution for Fiscal Year 2024-25 Pavement Management Program use of Senate Bill 1 (SB1) Funds <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution identifying a list of paving projects for Fiscal Year 2024-25 funded by SB 1: the Road <br />Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, in accordance with the Streets and Highways Code for the Road <br />Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Transportation <br />BACKGROUND <br />On April 28, 2017, the Governor approved Senate Bill 1 (SB1), also known as the “Road Repair and <br />Accountability Act of 2017”. A portion of funds generated from this Act can be used for municipal road <br />and street maintenance through the related “Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account” (RMRA). For <br />cities to receive these funds, cities must adopt a resolution identifying proposed projects each fiscal year. <br />The resolution in Attachment A identifies the proposed projects for the City’s Pavement Management <br />Program. Projects in the program are specific street segments that will receive pavement repairs. The City <br />is required to report the project list to the California Transportation Commission. <br />ANALYSIS <br />In community surveys this spring, residents identified the need to fix potholes and repair streets and <br />sidewalks as a top priority. Roadway condition is measured by the Pavement Condition Index (PCI). The <br />8.B. - Page 1 of 12 <br />884
