These decisions include <br />review and approval of development projects, including supportfn g environmental <br />documents. The Commission also hears appeals of land use decisions. Additfonally, the <br />Commission makes recommendatfons to the City Council on issues related to the General Plan, <br />Downtown Precise Plan, changes to the Zoning Ordinance, and subdivisions of land. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission reviews and acts upon the following: <br />• General Plan and General Plan amendments; <br />• Neighborhood and specific area plans; <br />• Environmental impact reports and negatfve declaratfons; <br />• Tentatfve subdivision maps; <br />• Planned Development permit applicatfons for developments of one acre or more; <br />• Appeals from actfons taken by the Community Development Department or the Sub- <br />division Committee regarding applicatfons for minor subdivisions;. <br />• Subdivision Ordinance exceptfons; <br />• Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance amendments; <br />• Conditfonal Use Permits, when the project is accompanied by an environmental <br />document; <br />• Special studies and reports; and <br />• Community Development Block Grants and Home Funds’ Review. <br /> <br />POLICE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CONSISTS OF ELEVEN MEMBERS, FOUR APPOINTED AT-LARGE <br />FOUR-YEAR TERMS; SEVEN DIRECT CITY COUNCILMEMBER APPOINTED TWO-YEAR TERMS) <br /> <br />The Police Advisory Committee was established in March 2021 by Rresolutfon 15939. The Police <br />Advisory Committee advises the Chief of Police. The Redwood City Police Department strives to <br />be a progressive police department with the goals of protectfng life and property, improving the <br />quality of life, and reducing crime and the fear of crime, consistent with the department’s motto, <br />“Providing Excellent Service with Integrity and Respect.” More informatfon about the Committee <br />can be found in Sectfon 2.114 of the City Code. <br />The dutfes of the committee, as set forth in the resolutfon include: <br />• Review City policing policies; <br />• Review community concerns related to crime and policing practfces; <br />• Receive an annual report on personnel complain processes; and <br />• Develop an annual work plan in partnership with the Chief of Police and present its work <br />plan annually to the City Council. <br />9.B. - Page 26 of 53 <br />182
