City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
Figure 1: Proposed Project Alignment
Staff is requesting that the City Council authorize the submittal of this grant application for the selected
Bay Trail Gap Closure project. The requested funding is for $2,000,000; it will be used to conduct
preliminary engineering work including an environmental study on the selected Bay Trail segments.
The proposed project supports the City Council’s Strategic Priority of Transportation and initiatives to
create policies and infrastructure to support zero emission trips, enhance regional mobility and ensure
Redwood City is considered in all strategic regional transportation initiatives.
FISCAL IMPACT
None; MTC does not require any local match for the project.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
Authorization to submit a grant application is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section 15378, as applying for and accepting funding have no
potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the
environment. If any of the projects receive grant funding, CEQA documentation will be filed and
completed for the project.
6.B. - Page 3 of 6
109
