Recently, the City received a request to
evaluate the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Duane Street. This intersection is currently a one-way
stop-controlled intersection with a stop sign on Duane Street. It is in close proximity of two schools, North
Star Academy and McKinley Institute of Technology, with a high volume of pedestrian activities to and
from the schools.
In August 2024, Police Department and Engineering and Transportation Department staff conducted a
field review and evaluated the intersection for an all-way stop sign according to local and state standards.
Under City Policy, any new stop sign, removal of a stop sign, or modification to a stop sign requires a City
Council resolution.
6.C. - Page 1 of 4
113
