Page 1 of 4 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: September 23, 2024 <br />SUBJECT <br />Final acceptance of the Hawes Park Synthetic Turf Replacement Project <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, accept the Hawes Park Synthetic Turf Replacement Project, and authorize the release of bonds <br />and the retention according to City procedures. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Children and Youth <br />BACKGROUND <br />On January 22, 2024, the City Council approved and authorized the City Manager to execute a contract <br />for the Hawes Synthetic Turf Replacement Project to FieldTurf, USA Inc. for $749,532.00, and authorize <br />the City Manager, or their designee, to increase the contract amount, if necessary, up to 10 percent of the <br />original contract amount, for a not to exceed total in the amount of $824,485.00. The project consisted <br />of the following improvements: site preparation and demolition of existing synthetic turf field, grading, <br />installation of new field surfacing and drainage pad, placement of tree root concrete barrier, dust <br />alleviation and control, and final site cleanup. <br />6.E. - Page 1 of 4 <br />122
