Page 1 of 11 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: September 23, 2024 <br />SUBJECT <br />Waive the first reading and introduce an ordinance amending Municipal Code Chapters 18 (Local <br />Improvements & Planning) and 27A (Stormwater Management and Discharge Control Program), and <br />repealing and replacing Municipal Code Chapter 30 (Subdivisions), to conform to current laws, provide <br />greater streamlining of subdivision applications, and improve flexibility to accommodate housing <br />developments <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Waive first reading and introduce an ordinance amending Chapter 18 (Local Improvements & <br />Planning) and Chapter 27A (Stormwater Management and Discharge Control Program) of the <br />Redwood City Municipal Code, and repealing and replacing Chapter 30 (Subdivisions); and <br />2. Adopt resolution adopting updated Green Infrastructure Development Standards for new building <br />and substantial commercial remodels in accordance with Chapters 12 and 27A of the Redwood City <br />Municipal Code. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Housing <br />Economic Vitality <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Redwood City Municipal Code (City Code) is a collection of ordinances passed by the City Council that <br />governs certain activities within the City. The City Code sets forth the rules and regulations for a very wide <br />variety of situations and issues, including but not limited to land development, building construction, fire <br />prevention, and health and sanitation.
