Page 1 of 6 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: September 23, 2024 <br />SUBJECT <br />Tentative Agreement between the City of Redwood City and the San Mateo County Firefighters <br />International Association of Firefighters Local 2400 (IAFF), and amendments to the City of Redwood City's <br />Classification and Wage and Salary Plan to update the salary range for classifications represented by IAFF, <br />and for the Fire Fighter Trainee classification <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. By motion, approve Tentative Agreement relative to wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of <br />employment for employees in the San Mateo County Firefighters International Association of <br />Firefighters Local 2400 (IAFF) bargaining unit, for the period July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026; and <br />2. Adopt a resolution amending the City's Classification and Salary and Wage Plan for classifications <br />represented by IAFF and the Fire Fighter Trainee classification; and <br />3. Adopt a resolution approving an appropriation amendment to the FY 2024-2025 General Fund budget <br />to increase expenditures in the amount of $531,850 for increased salary and benefit costs related to <br />the IAFF Agreement that begins in Fiscal Year 2024-25. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />Due to the dynamic nature of providing services to the community and as service needs and City <br />operations evolve over time, City staff review the organization to recommend changes in support of the <br />City’s Strategic Plan and to improve operating efficiency and service delivery. <br />6.A. - Page 1 of 99 <br />8
