REV: 09-04-24 LF
EXHIBIT “A”
SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE
Scope of Services
Consultant will provide the following services for the City’s Hoover Park project:
Task 1 – Geotechnical Exploration
Field Exploration
Four borings to depths of up to approximately 20 feet below existing grade with a truck-
mounted drill rig. As required by the California Geological Survey – Note 48, conduct a
minimum of two exploration locations within the envelope of the proposed building.
Perform one additional seismic CPT sounding to a depth of approximately 50 feet below
grade within the proposed restroom/concession building footprint. Consultant’s
representative will observe the drilling operations and log the subsurface conditions
encountered. Soil samples will be taken at frequent intervals for visual classification and
laboratory testing.
Laboratory Testing
Test representative soil samples from the exploratory locations in a laboratory to
determine some of their engineering properties. Examine moisture content, dry density,
plasticity index, sieve analysis, unconfined compression, triaxial, and corrosivity testing
(pH, resistivity, chloride, and sulfate) as needed, for this project.
Geotechnical Reporting
Analyze the subsurface conditions and laboratory test results and prepare a geotechnical
report that will include the items described below.
1. Suitability of the property for the proposed parks and recreation development
2. Site seismicity and seismic hazards
3. Discussion of treatment of geotechnical constraints such as loose/soft surface
soil, existing fill, compressible soil, expansive soil, and liquefiable soil, as
necessary, based on field exploration results
4. Estimated total and differential foundation settlements due to liquefaction
5. Earthwork
• Site clearing and original ground preparation
• Existing fill removal (if any)
• Treatment of over-optimum soil moisture conditions
• Acceptable on-site and imported fill materials
• Subgrade and fill compaction requirements
• Utility trench backfill compaction
• Fill construction on slopes
• Surface drainage
6. Current Building Code Seismic Parameters
7. Foundation Recommendations for the Various Proposed Structures
• Minimum dimensions
ATTY/AGR.2024.153/ENGEO Incoporated (Hoover Park Geotechinical) (Page 11 of 13)
