Elevator Lobbies and Waiting Areas – Two-Way Communication System: The <br />elevator lobbies and waiting areas must be provided with a two-way communication <br />system as required by CFC §1009.8. [COA] [FIRE] <br /> <br />65. Emergency Planning and Information: Buildings four (4) or more stories in height <br />must have a posted floor plan sign to provide emergency procedures at every <br />stairway landing, elevator landing, and immediately inside all public entrances to the <br />building. [CFC 907.2.12.3.1-B and Redwood City Code of Ordinances §12.23] [COA] <br />[FIRE] <br /> <br />66. Construction Egress and Standpipes: During construction when building <br />construction exceeds 40 feet in height above the lowest level of fire department <br />vehicle access a temporary or permanent stairway must be provided, and as <br />construction progresses, the stairway must be extended to within one floor of the <br />highest point of construction, having secured decking or flooring, and not less than <br />one Class I standpipe must be provided for use, and the standpipe must be installed <br />prior to construction exceeding 40 feet in height above the lowest level of fire <br />department vehicle access, with the standpipe provided with fire department hose <br />connections at locations adjacent to the stairways and must be extended to within <br />one floor of the highest point of construction having secured decking or flooring. <br />[CFC §3311.1 and CFC §3313.1] [COA] [FIRE] <br /> <br />Construction-Related Activities <br />67. Verification for Dimensions – All dimensions, including building location on the <br />site, setbacks, building height, etc. shall be verified by a licensed surveyor. A survey <br />report shall be provided to the Building Inspector for review and approval. <br />[COA][BUILDING] <br />68. Sales and Use Taxes – Applicant shall register with the Board of Equalization to <br />create an ID prior to project construction and operation. This maximizes the City’s <br />allocation of sales and use taxes associated with project construction. Contact the <br />Finance Department, at (650) 780-7097 [COA][FINANCE] <br /> <br />69. Hours of Construction – On-Site Construction activity is permitted between 7:00 <br />a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except as permitted on weekends by <br />the Building Official, and shall adhere to the City’s Noise Ordinance. If possible, the <br />noisiest construction activities should be scheduled for daytime hours when the <br />ambient noise levels are highest. [SDR][BUILDING] <br />70.
