REV: 09-18-24 LF
EXHIBIT “A”
SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE
Consultant will provide their digital services Kanopy and OverDrive Advantage, each a
subscription model that will allow the City to deliver digital content to City customers.
Kanopy offers a Pay-Per-Use (PPU) model. This model utilizes “Play Tickets” which are
used by End Users to watch films, resulting in a charge to the City. The City will pay for
Play Tickets that have been used by an End User to watch Titles on the platform. The
City can set a monthly or annual spending limit, and decide how many Play Tickets to
offer End Users each month. The City will be charged $1 for each Play Ticket used by
End Users. Kanopy also provides 8 - 10 ticket-free films each month that may be
accessed and viewed, free of charge, at any time.
Kanopy Kids is included with the PPU subscription. When an End User first plays a
Kanopy Kids Title, the City will be charged $5. That End User will then have 30 days of
unlimited access to any videos within Kanopy Kids at no additional charge to the City.
After the initial 30 day access period has concluded, the next time the same End User
watches a Kanopy Kids Title, the City will be charged another $5 for that End User to
have unlimited access to Kanopy Kids for another 30 day period. Kanopy Kids does not
use Play Tickets and provides End Users with unlimited access to the collection for 30
days at a time.
OverDrive Advantage allows members of a consortium (Redwood City Public Library is
part of the Peninsula Library System) to purchase additional Libby (digital platform) titles
for their customers only. The City can customize its digital collection based on their
customers’ interests and reduce wait times for popular books. Additionally, the Local
Content feature (under the “Admin” tab in Marketplace) allows the City to add their own
ebooks and audiobooks to their digital collection at no cost. The City can use this feature
to distribute materials like historical documents, newsletters, local government materials,
or books by local authors. Local Content titles are added to the digital collection under the
One Copy/One User lending model and can be borrowed just like any other content.
Consultant also provides flexible purchasing options including simultaneous use, one
copy/one user, metered access by time, metered access by circ, metered access
concurrent use, and cost per circ.
Consultant will provide the following services as part of their Kanopy digital service:
Access to Consultant’s content delivery platform, Kanopy.
The Kanopy app is available for download at the Apple Store and the Google Play
store.
No annual costs or fees for the Kanopy platform when using the PPU model
Customizable platform with the City’s name and custom URL for customers to
access Kanopy on a web browser. https://redwoodcity.kanopy.com
An annual series of promotional campaigns curated to highlight content that is
relevant to patrons and librarians alike, which also frequently corresponds to
ATTY/AGR.2024.167/OverDrive, Inc.
