They are integral members of our <br />neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and workforce. It is crucial that we acknowledge and <br />protect their rights, ensuring that they feel safe and valued in the city they call home. <br />By declaring Redwood City a sanctuary city, we have the opportunity to lead by example, <br />demonstrating compassion, justice, and respect for the diversity that strengthens our <br />community. Our action could create a ripple effect, inspiring other cities in the region and <br />beyond to follow suit, ultimately pushing toward a more just and inclusive solution for the <br />ongoing challenges facing our immigrant populations. <br />I believe that by taking this step, Redwood City can set a powerful example of how <br />communities can thrive together, united in their commitment to equity and human dignity. <br />Thank you for considering this important issue.
