<br />16 <br /> <br />3 pairs of pants <br />3 long-sleeve shirts <br />3 short-sleeve shirts <br />1 underbelt <br />1 cold weather (non-leather) jacket with patches <br />1 dress cap or baseball cap with patch (officer’s choice) <br />1 dress tie <br />2 name tags <br />$125.00 maximum annual reimbursement for boots (purchase or <br />resoling). <br /> <br />The City will also provide and maintain the following Battle Dress <br />Uniforms (BDU) to be worn at the direction of the Police Chief or their <br />designee: <br /> <br />1 pair of BDU pants <br />1 long-sleeve BDU shirt <br />1 short-sleeve BDU shirt <br /> <br />Officers shall not be required to wear soft body armor unless working in <br />uniform in an enforcement capacity or taking part in Department range <br />training. The following sections outline the exceptions to this <br />requirement: <br /> <br />a) Officers assigned as Detective shall not be required to wear body <br />armor unless they are involved in a pre-planned raid or arrest <br />scenario of an anticipated suspect, or when directed by a <br />supervisor. <br />b) Officers may be excused from wearing body armor when they are <br />functioning in a primarily administrative or support capacity. <br />c) Officers shall not be considered to be working in an enforcement <br />capacity while appearing in court. <br />d) Officers may be excused from wearing body armor when medical <br />clearance has been provided by a valid medical authority. <br />e) Officers may be exempted from this requirement on a case by case <br />basis and when deemed appropriate by a supervisor. <br /> <br />7.13.2 The City will provide for all Police Officers cleaning, altering, repairing <br />and/or replacement of damaged uniforms as authorized by the Police <br />Chief or their designee. <br /> <br />Such furnished uniforms shall remain the property of and under the <br />control of the City. <br /> <br />7.13.3 For classic CalPERS members as defined by the Public Employee Pension <br />Reform Act (PEPRA), the City will report to CalPERS the monetary value <br />for providing and maintaining the employee’s required uniforms as <br />6.I. - Page 28 of 84 <br />258
