Page 1 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: December 9, 2024 <br />SUBJECT <br />Declaration of results of the November 5, 2024 General Municipal Election for the City of Redwood City <br />based on the County of San Mateo Election Official's Certification of Final Official Canvass <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution reciting the facts and declaring the results of the General Municipal Election held in <br />the City of Redwood City on November 5, 2024. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Redwood City holds its elections in even-numbered years and consolidates its General <br />Municipal Election with the Statewide or Presidential General Election, most recently held in the City of <br />Redwood City on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. On the ballot were four district-based City Council seats <br />with one candidate in District 1, two candidates in District 3, one candidate in District 4 and two candidates <br />in District 7. Additionally, one citywide measure approved by City Council Resolution No. 16234 dated July <br />22, 2024 appeared on the ballot. The California Elections Code requires that upon certification of the <br />results of the election by the County Elections Officer, the City Council shall meet to declare the results of <br />the election. <br />5.A. - Page 1 of 35 <br />4
