<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECITING THE FACTS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of <br />Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of California on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, <br />as required by law for the purpose of electing four members of the City Council and to <br />vote on Measure BB; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in the time, form and manner <br />prescribed by law, vote centers were properly established, election officers were <br />appointed and in all cases said election was held and conducted and votes were cast, <br />received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in the time, form and manner <br />required by the provisions of Elections Code of the State of California for holding of <br />elections in general and charter cities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Nos. 16220, 16221, 16222, and 16234, the <br />County of San Mateo Elections Office canvassed the returns of said election and has <br />certified the results, which have been received and are attached and made part hereof as <br />Exhibit A. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Attached hereto as Exhibit A is the Certificate from the Chief Elections <br />Officer and the Completed Canvass of the Vote and the Certified Election Results. <br /> <br />2. The number of votes given in the City to each of the persons voted for at <br />the election for the respective offices for which the persons were candidates and for and <br />against the measure are listed in the attached Exhibit A. <br /> <br />3. The total number of ballots cast in the City was 35,037. <br /> <br />4. The names and results of the persons voted for at said election for members <br />of the City Council are: <br /> <br />District 1 <br />Jeff Gee 4,570 Votes (100%) <br />District 3 <br />Lissette Espinoza Garnica 1,385 Votes (49.73%) <br />Isabella Chu 1,400 Votes (50.27%) <br />District 4 <br />Elmer Martínez Saballos 1,924 Votes (100%) <br />District 7 <br />Marcella Padilla 3,181 Votes (54.07%) <br />Diana Reddy 2,702 Votes (45.93%) <br />5.A. - Page 4 of 35 <br />7
