<br />5. The City Council does declare and determines that: <br /> <br />a. Jeff Gee is elected as a member of the City Council representing District <br />1 for a term of four years. <br /> <br />b. Isabella Chu is elected as a member of the City Council representing District <br />3 for a term of four years. <br /> <br />c. Elmer Martínez Saballos is elected as a member of the City Council <br />representing District 4 for a term of four years. <br /> <br />d. Marcella Padilla is elected as a member of the City Council representing <br />District 7 for a term of four years. <br /> <br />6. The City Clerk shall deliver to each person elected a certification of election <br />signed by her and duly authenticated; the City Clerk shall also administer to the persons <br />elected the oath of office as prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of California <br />and shall have each of them subscribe to it and file it in the office of the City Clerk. Each <br />person elected shall then be inducted into the respective office to which they have been <br />elected. <br /> <br />7. Measure BB (City of Redwood City Business License Tax Measure) <br />appeared on the ballot as follows: Shall the measure to maintain local city services, such <br />as: maintaining 911 emergency response/neighborhood police patrols; fixing potholes, <br />repairing streets/sidewalks; maintaining on-duty firefighters/paramedics; and storm drains <br />to prevent flooding; by modernizing the City of Redwood City business license tax base, <br />and per employee rates between $10 and $250, with the highest fee on larger <br />businesses, for general government use, as described in the ordinance, providing <br />approximately $7,000,000 annually, until ended by voters, be adopted? <br /> <br />It was determined and declared that Measure BB did receive a majority of the votes cast <br />with 26,988 votes cast in favor (83.77%) and 5,228 votes cast in opposition (16.23%) and <br />therefore was approved by the voters of Redwood City. <br /> <br />8. The City Clerk shall enter into the records of the City Council of the City, a <br />statement of the results of the election, showing: (1) the whole number of votes cast in <br />the City; (2) the names of the persons voted for; (3) for what office each person was voted <br />for; (4) the measure voted upon; and (5) the number of votes given at each precinct to <br />each person, and for and against each measure. <br /> <br />9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this <br />resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. <br /> <br /> <br />5.A. - Page 5 of 35 <br />8
