EXHIBIT A PROPOSED NEW JOB DESCRIPTION CITY OF REDWOOD CITY HOUSING MANAGEMENT ANALYST I/II DEFINITION To provide highly responsible professional, administrative, analytical and technical assistance in the development, administration and implementation of housing projects, programs and policies which may include new affordable housing development, affordable housing preservation, federal and state housing and community development grants, the City’s Housing Element; and tenant/landlord programs. This specialized, professional position will effectively coordinate with City staff, non - profits, developers, regional agencies, consultants and other stakeholders to achieve high quality housing projects and programs in a timely and efficient manner that is responsive to the public. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS Housing Management Analyst I: This is the entry-level class in the professional Housing Management Analyst series. This class is distinguished from the journey by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties as assigned to positions within this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters allocated to the journey level. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or not directly related work experience. Employees work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks. Housing Management Analyst II: This is the journey level class within the professional Housing Management Analyst series. This class is distinguished from the entry level by the assignment of the full range of duties. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the entry. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Housing Management Analyst I Receives general supervision from an assigned supervisor. Exercises technical and functional supervision over technical and administrative support personnel.
