At the time of this agreement, the City was anticipating a Veterans Memorial Building/Senior
Center construction project completion date of August 2023. As a result of subsequent delays in
construction, the City entered into a storage agreement with One Workplace in August 2023 to store the
new furniture until the City was ready to accept delivery, and amended the agreement in June 2024 since
the building was still incomplete. The original agreement and Amendment No. 1 were under the financial
threshold for City Council approval, but the total amount of the amended contract requires City Council
approval.
CONSULTANT AGREEMENT SUMMARY
Agreement/Amendment Time Period Covered Amount
Original Agreement 8/14/2023-6/10/2024 $55,000.00
Amendment No. 1 6/10/2024-1/26/2025 $46,905.00
Amendment No. 2 (proposed)1/27/2025-5/31/2025 $32,733.40
Total $134,638.40
ANALYSIS
In order to provide a secure location for the interior furniture for the Veterans Memorial/Building Senior
Center until the anticipated completion of construction in spring 2025, staff recommends an additional
amendment to the storage agreement. Amendment No. 2 also includes additional delivery charges
because the furniture needs to be loaded from its current warehouse location and delivered to the
Veterans Memorial Building/Senior Center. The original purchase agreement anticipated direct delivery
to the building rather than to a storage warehouse, and neither the original storage agreement nor the
first amendment accounted for the costs of One Workplace delivering the items a second time.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding will be requested through the Year End Budget Amendment process once the exact amount of
the expenditure is known.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
6.G. - Page 2 of 13
108
