Receive an update on current housing-related efforts, implementation of the Anti-Displacement <br />Strategy (ADS), and recent local, regional, and state actions requiring City attention; and <br />2. By motion, direct staff to amend the ADS Workplan and Timeline as described in Table 5 and 6 of the <br />staff report. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Housing <br />BACKGROUND <br />Housing has been a top strategic priority for the City of Redwood City (City) for several years now, with <br />the goal of meeting our unique community housing needs for people at all income levels. In 2020, the City <br />Council adopted four housing goals as part of its 2020 Strategic Plan: <br />1. Preserve existing affordable housing; <br />2. Protect housing options for low-and middle-income residents; <br />3. Produce housing to meet Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) goals for moderate-, low-, and <br />very low-income residents; and <br />4. Partner on housing opportunities for unique populations. <br />Each year through the annual budget adoption process, the City Council affirms staff work to advance <br />these goals. FY 2024-25 year housing and homelessness initiatives are provided here. This report provides <br />an update on current housing-related efforts and recent local, regional and state actions requiring City <br />8.A. - Page 1 of 21 <br />159
