Page 2 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />ANALYSIS <br />To address this need, PWS issued a Notice Inviting Bids (“NIB”) on October 16, 2024 for water pump <br />preventative maintenance and on-call repair services. The NIB was emailed to thirteen potential <br />contractors, posted to the City’s website, and published in the San Mateo Daily Journal. Staff received <br />bids from four contractors with Pump Repair Service Co. submitting the lowest bid. The following table <br />summarizes the total bid price by contractor. <br /> <br />Table #1: Total Bid Price by Contractor <br />Contractor Total Bid Price <br />Pump Repair Service Co.$204,535.00 <br />Pump Pros Inc. $299,361.26 <br />Kaweah Pump Inc. dba Odell’s Pump and Motor $397,000.00 <br />Bartley Pump PM, LLC dba PumpMan NorCal $466,400.00 <br /> <br />Staff recommends approving and authorizing the City Manager to execute a one-year Agreement for <br />Services with Pump Repair Service Co., the lowest and responsible bidder, for water pump preventative <br />maintenance and on-call repair services for a total not-to-exceed amount of $235,215, which includes a <br />contingency amount for any unanticipated repairs. Staff also recommends authorizing the City Manager <br />to extend the agreement for up to two additional two-year terms for an aggregate total not-to-exceed <br />amount of $1,248,788. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The amount of $235,215 is available to allocate from the Water Utility Fund operating budgets. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This project is categorically exempt under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, section <br />15301, “Existing Facilities”, which allows for maintenance and repair of existing facilities involving <br />negligible or no expansion of use of the existing facilities. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />6.F. - Page 2 of 19 <br />89
