Interior cleaning is part of a healthy preventative maintenance
program, ensuring high water quality and reliable service to customers.
ANALYSIS
Each water tank contains large volumes of water and services a significant portion of the City. In order to
minimize water waste and system disruption, staff recommends hiring a certified diving company to clean
tank interiors. Diving companies are able to clean and make minor repairs to tank interiors without
draining the tank, saving millions of gallons of water and preventing service interruption. Additionally,
diving companies provide video footage of their dive, which assists staff in identifying any potential
structural problems that may need to be corrected before they become a serious issue.
6.E. - Page 1 of 23
52
