The purpose of this request is to secure sanitary sewer service from the District
for the identified property and construct a new sewer connection, pursuant to the Oak Knoll Sewage
Treatment and Disposal Agreement between the County of San Mateo and the City dated March 18, 1958
(link). The property is within the Oak Knoll Area and is eligible to use a portion of the sewage treatment
capacity allocated to the District by the August 19, 1980 Wastewater Treatment Capacity Agreement
between the City and County (link).
The nearest sanitary sewer point of connection for the parcel is located in the District, which is within the
Oak Knoll Area. The property owners requested that the property be annexed to the District. The District
has authorized and approved the construction of a new sewer connection. The existing single-family
house is allotted 270 gallons per day of sewer discharge in accordance with Redwood City Municipal Code
Section 27.101. The sewer treatment capacity necessary to service this property is provided as part of a
total County allocation of 500,000 gallons per day pursuant to the above-referenced 1980 agreement.
Copies of the 1958 and 1980 agreements are available for review in the City Clerk’s Office.
