<br />24 <br /> <br />o Grandparent. <br />o Grandchild. <br />o Sibling. <br />o Designated Person. For the purpose of this section, “Designated <br />Person” means a person identified by the employee at the time the <br />employee requests paid sick days. The City may limit an employee <br />to one designated person per 12-month period for paid sick days <br /> <br />x To obtain any relief or services related to being a victim of domestic <br />violence, sexual assault, or stalking including the following with <br />appropriate certification of the need for such services: <br /> <br />o A temporary restraining order or restraining order. <br />o Other injunctive relief to help ensure the health, safety or welfare <br />of themselves or their children. <br />o To seek medical attention for injuries caused by domestic violence, <br />sexual assault, or stalking. <br />o To obtain services from a domestic violence shelter, program, or <br />rape crisis center as a result of domestic violence, sexual assault, or <br />stalking. <br />o To obtain psychological counseling related to an experience of <br />domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking. <br />o To participate in safety planning and take other actions to increase <br />safety from future domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, <br />including temporary or permanent relocation. <br />x Effective January 1, 2025, sick leave can be used for the following <br />additional purposes as provided in Government Code Section 12945.8, <br />subsections (a)(3) and (b), as follows: <br />o for an employee to obtain or attempt to obtain any relief, including <br />but not limited to, a temporary restraining order, restraining order, <br />or other injunctive relief, to help ensure the health, safety, or welfare <br />of the victim or their child. <br />o to obtain or attempt to obtain any relief for the family member, <br />including but not limited to, a temporary restraining order, <br />restraining order, or other injunctive relief, to help ensure the health, <br />safety, or welfare of the family member of the victim; <br />o to seek, obtain, or assist a family member to seek or obtain, medical <br />attention for or to recover from injuries caused by a qualifying act <br />of violence; <br />o to seek, obtain, or assist a family member to seek or obtain services <br />from a domestic violence shelter, program, rape crisis center, or <br />victim services organization or agency as a result of a qualifying act <br />of violence; <br />6.H. - Page 32 of 72 <br />374
