<br />36 <br /> <br /> <br />The City and RCPSA agree that in the event state or federal law changes to the extent that <br />mandates are placed on the City or the level of benefits changes during the term of this <br />MOU, the parties agree to reopen the MOU to meet and confer over such changes or <br />mandates, if either party requests to do so. <br /> <br />10.6 Long Term Disability <br /> <br />The City will pay nineteen dollars and fifty cents ($19.50) per month, per employee <br />towards the cost of Long Term Disability Coverage. <br /> <br />10.7 Vision <br /> <br />The City will continue to contract with Vision Service Plan (VSP) or comparable vision <br />care provider to provide vision care benefits for employees and their dependents. The <br />Vision Service Plan “B” provides for an exam every twelve (12) months, lenses every <br />twelve (12) months if needed, and frames every two (2) years, if needed. There is no <br />deductible for employees, but a twenty dollar ($20.00) per person deductible will apply to <br />dependents each time benefits are available and will be paid by employees. Effective <br />January 1, 2012, the City will pay ninety percent (90%) of the vision insurance premium <br />for eligible employees and dependents. <br /> <br />10.8 Wellness Pilot Program <br /> <br />A. 10.8.1 Program Summary: Police Sergeants and Lieutenants will have the option to <br />participate in a voluntary Wellness Program. Effective August 26, 2024, any changes to <br />the wellness program negotiated with the Redwood City Police Officers Association will <br />apply to the Police Supervisors’ Association. <br /> <br />10.8.2 Pilot Program: This program will be implemented as a pilot project. The pilot <br />program will be in effect until August 25, 2024. At the end of the pilot program <br />period, the parties will evaluate the plan including available data and objective <br />criteria as well as the experience of participating employees related to wellness of <br />plan participants. By mutual agreement between the City and the Association, the <br />program may continue on an ongoing basis. <br /> <br />10.8.3 On-Duty Fitness Time: Participating employees who are not assigned to patrol <br />will be authorized to exercise for up to one (1) hour of On Duty Fitness Time per <br />shift up to three (3) shifts per work week, which shall include the selected form of <br />approved exercise, changing attire, and showering. <br /> <br />For participating officers not assigned to patrol, time will be allotted during the <br />employee’s working day to allow the employee the benefit of working out on duty. <br />Employees must commit to using one (1) hour of on-duty time to engage in a <br />selected form of approved exercise up to three (3) shifts per work week, contingent <br />upon supervisor approval and/or staffing constraints as determined by the <br />supervisor. <br /> <br />Participants will be required to sign a hold harmless agreement. <br /> <br />6.H. - Page 44 of 72 <br />386
