Life Insurance: The City shall offer to eligible employees additional life <br />insurance equal to one and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee's annual <br />salary at a 60/40 premium contribution split between the City and the <br />employee respectively. <br /> <br />8. Long Term Disability Insurance: The City will contract to provide Long Term <br />Disability Insurance for employees. The City, for the term of this agreement, <br />will pay the full cost of the basic rate (basic rate provides for up to a three <br />thousand dollar ($3,000) maximum monthly payout). A buy-up option will be <br />included to offer the employee the opportunity to increase their coverage, at <br />their own expense, up to an additional three thousand dollar ($3,000) monthly <br />payout. The total maximum monthly payout available will be six thousand <br />dollars ($6,000). <br /> <br />9. Priority Registration City Recreation Program: <br />The City will offer employees a discount and priority registration to enroll their <br />children in qualifying child-based recreation programs offered by the City’s <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (“Recreation <br />Department”). <br /> <br />a. Definitions: For purposes of this policy, the following definitions apply: <br />“Child-based” means a recreation program offered by the City that is <br />designed for school-age children. <br />“Children” means a biological, adopted, or foster child, a stepchild, a legal <br />ward, or a child of an employee or the employee's domestic partner, or a <br />person to whom the employee stands in loco parentis who is under the <br />age of 18 years old. <br />“City” means the City of Redwood City, and includes all of the City’s <br />affiliated entities. <br />“City employee” means a full time or part time Redwood City employee, <br />who is regularly assigned to work a minimum of twenty (20) hours in a <br />seven (7) day work period for the City of Redwood City. This policy does <br />not apply to contractors or temporary employees of the City. <br />“Eligible program” means a child-based recreation program offered by the <br />City’s Recreation Department that runs for a minimum of three hours per <br />day that the program is offered.
