Page 2 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />bidders attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting and one bid was received by the February 12, 2025, <br />submission deadline. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Bidders were provided estimated annual quantities for various job tasks and asked to provide unit prices <br />and extended prices for the purpose of determining the lowest bid. <br />The bid received is summarized below: <br />Bidder Bid Price <br />Bay Area Paving Co.$967,713 <br />As shown above, Bay Area Paving Co. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The total bid price <br />is higher than the recommended contract award amount due to the total estimated quantities provided <br />by the City for bid comparisons. The City is under no obligation to establish mandatory minimum <br />quantities under the scope of its contract and bidders were made aware of this during the bid process. <br />The total recommended contract amount has been capped at $800,000 to align with forecasted funding <br />availability in the respective divisions’ operating budgets for the one-year contract period. <br />Staff recommends approval and authorization for the City Manager to execute the contract documents <br />and award the standard form contract for the On-Call Concrete or Asphalt Repair and Replacement Project <br />to Bay Area Paving Co. in an amount not to exceed $800,000. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funding will be allocated from the operating budgets of multiple divisions within PWS on an as-needed <br />basis during the contract term. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This project meets the CEQA exemption criteria as set forth in CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (Class 2 – <br />Replacement or Reconstruction) in that it involves the minor alteration of existing City Facilities with <br />negligible or no expansion of an existing use. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />6.M. - Page 2 of 3 <br />575
