By motion, City Council to file and approve the Local Agency Biennial Notice. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />California law requires designated public officials to disclose their economic interests to the public. <br />Public officials designated by statute who disclose economic interests include City Council members, <br />Planning Commissioners, City Managers, City Attorneys and City Treasurers. These positions are <br />specified in Government Code section 87200 and are often referred to as “Code 87200 filers”. The <br />purpose of the disclosure requirement is to alert both public officials and the public to any personal <br />economic interests that may be affected during the public official's performance of duties . The <br />disclosure occurs through the filing of the Form 700 - Statement of Economic Interests upon taking <br />office, on an annual basis, and upon leaving office. <br />6.C. - Page 1 of 18 <br />67
