Learn why this isimportant
Dear Mayor Martínez Saballos, Vice Mayor Eakin, and Council Members,

We are writing with serious concerns about factual errors in Staff Report 6.E regarding the
project alternatives.
At the Joint Study Session (Planning Commission and Council) on March 4th, 2025, two
distinct alternatives were presented:
Alternative 1: 13 new buildings, 2.1 million new square feet (3.07 million total), 33.4
acres of public open space, and 5,600 parking stalls
Alternative 2: 12 new buildings, 1.9 million new square feet (2.86 million total), 35.1 acres of
public open space, and 5,200 parking stalls
However, tonight's April 14th, 2025 meeting related document, Staff Report 6.E, incorrectly
attributes Alternative 1's square footage figures to Alternative 2, stating:
Alternative 2: 12 new buildings, 2.1 million new square feet (3.07 million total), 35.1
acres of public open space, and 5,200 parking stalls
This is not a minor discrepancy. It represents a significant mischaracterization of the project
scope that the Council is being asked to approve.
This error compounds another misleading claim that the current proposal represents "about
a 20 percent" reduction from the original plan. In reality, the reduction is less than 14% – a
substantial difference when considering a project of this magnitude.
The Council cannot make an informed decision based on incorrect information. We strongly
urge you to remove this item from the calendar until:
1. All factual errors are corrected in public documents
2. The community has adequate opportunity to review and comment on the accurate
alternatives
A project of this significance deserves thorough and accurate consideration by both Council
and community.

Respectfully,
