Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Capital Improvements
Date:Monday, April 14, 2025 5:29:33 PM
You don't often get email from leeny.aileen@gmail.com. Learn why this is important
Hi,
To respond to Chris Sturken who requested comments. Infrastructure that needs attention:
1. Major roads in RWC: Woodside, Middlefield, and El Camino.
Currently there are some bike lanes. On Woodside rd, there are new lanes, yet it is still a
parking lot for Woodside High School during school hours and on the weekends. Chuck’s
Donuts is also a parking lot as well even though the entire road is red curbed. This major road
needs bollards to seperate the bike lane and prevent cars parking like the section of Alameda
de las Pulgas and Woodside Road.
Middlefield needs more separation - bollards for the same reasons above. People who have to
ride Middlefield outside of DT by Costco are using the sidewalk cause they don’t feel safe
riding in the bike lane.
El Camino is the same. There is Sequoia High AND Caltrain. Bike lane separation is
necessary to get to these places. I still ride on El Camino Rd but I see so many people riding
on the sidewalks instead.
Using side streets isn’t good enough as drivers tend to speed thru and drive thru stop signs. I
was t-boned riding to work using a side streets isn’t. No more. I use only the major roads to
ride.
These are my notes and I truly believe proper bike infrastructure is needed on these roads.
Thanks.
